Educational Health Care Needs Assessment [EHCNA] Parental Request
We will write your parental request for an Education Health & Care Needs Assessment [EHCNA]. Use your views and information from existing reports to ensure that your child’s needs and existing provisions are reflected accurately within the four areas of need.
Setting out the request in this format makes it clear to the local authority that the two-part test is met, and it is evidenced that an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment is necessary.
(8)The local authority must secure an EHC needs assessment for the child or young person if, after having regard to any views expressed and evidence submitted under subsection (7), the authority is of the opinion that—
(a)the child or young person has or may have special educational needs, and
(b)it may be necessary for special educational provision to be made for the child or young person in accordance with an EHC plan
